Established in 1867 as Hill Park and later renamed Buena Vista, the park is the oldest official park in San Francisco which is probably the finest hill park in San Francisco because of its own internal park features. Visitors can also hike up to the top of Buena Vista Park on dirt trails. The park also has tennis courts and children's playground.
