The California Palace of the Legion of Honor (commonly called as the 'Legion of Honor') is one of San Francisco's best fine arts museums which holds an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 years of European art in a gorgeous hilltop museum setting overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. This beautiful Beaux-arts building was built to commemorate the Californian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I. The museum's most distinguished collection is of sculpture by Auguste Rodin. However there are individual works by many other artists too.
