Description:
The Museum is more than just a naval museum: it covers the disputes between Colonial powers, and the role of Brazilian Navy since before its independence until past World War II. Installed in a building constructed in 1868, this museum preserves articles from the seafaring history of the city. The displays portray everything starting with the Portuguese heritage, fights against the Dutchs and Frenchs, through to the Latin-American struggles and the two World Wars.
