With over 20,000 species of plants spread over 43 hectares of green area, the Berlin's Botanical Garden ranks among the three most important botanical gardens in the entire world. It belongs to the Free University of Berlin. The gardens consist of three areas: the arboretum which displays woody plants and roses, the exhibition area showcases various plants from all over the world in their geo-graphical context, and there's this collection of around 1,500 species of plants, all of which are systematically categorized by their family relationships. There are also large greenhouses with exotic plants and each greenhouse focusing on a different climate region.
