Visitors can learn more about the history of Kenya's railways and the Kenya/Uganda railway. It also houses, some of the engines and rolling stock from the country's colonial period. It was opened in 1971 by East African Railways and Harbours Corporation. It is today operated by Kenya Railways Corporation and it is the only Railway Museum in East and Central Africa.
