The tanneries in Marrakech are certainly worth a peek. Take a sprig of mint with you because you may not like the smell of this place. Historically, dyes for leathers were comprised of everything from pomegranates to pigeon guano. But today, the dyes are made of chemical pigments. Although the tanneries are stinky, it’s fascinating to watch them.
