Built in 1953, the Purple Bamboo Park is one of the ten largest parks in Beijing. Having total area of 48 hectares, the park was constructed according to the classical Chinese garden style consisting of 3 lakes, 2 islands, 1 river and 1 canal. Primary attraction of the park is the bamboos which are planted throughout the park in different colors like green, purple, pink and so on. Around 50 species of bamboos can be found in the park and there is also an art museum located in the park.
