The museum is maintained by the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) and has been running since year 1964 in the abandoned convent of St. Francis of Assisi. The additional services provided for the tourists include clean inventory, the potable drinking water, video show on World Heritage sites in India, publication sale counter, children activity center.
