Ota Memorial Museum of Art is a Japan's leading art museum that specializes in Ukiyo-e woodblock prints from noted artist Ota Seizo, former head of the Toho Life Insurance Company. The Ukiyo-e woodblock prints are typically a Japanese art form, depicting scenes from the 'Floating World' such as theaters and teahouses, geisha and cherry-blossoms. Like most of the museums in Tokyo, the Ota Memorial Art Museum displays no more than a few dozen works at a time from its vast collection of over 10,000 prints, including those by renowned masters of art such as Hokusai and Hiroshige. The museum changes the theme as well as the prints on display every month, keeping the exhibits fresh and new.
