Description:
Originally a fort built in the 1930s by the British during the World War II to protect the island from the invasion of Japanese enemies, now restored and turned into the Penang War Museum which is the first war museum in Malaysia. The museum's exhibits provide a glimpse into life in Penang during the war, and this fort has all the features of a typical defense facility with underground tunnels and ammunition bunkers. Located just a short drive outside of Georgetown, this museum is regarded as Southeast Asia's largest war museum.
