Built to replace the old Istana Negara, the New Palace is a combination of Supporting buildings, palace building and the staff building. Having a floor area of 75,000 square feet, it is surrounded by a beautiful garden which was formerly a forest area. Decision of constructing new palace was taken as the existing palace was considered to be very small in size.
