City: Langkawi
Description:

Eagle Square is one of the most popular attractions in Malaysia. Also known as Dataran Lang, it has a large manmade sculpture of an eagle poised to take flight. The eagle with huge brown wings, erected on a massive rock, was built as an emblem of the island. As per the local people, the name Langkawi came from two different words such as 'Lang' or 'Helang' which means eagle and 'Kawi' meaning reddish brown. The square also features beautiful ponds, barrel vaults and covered terraces.
