Built in 1846, Masjid Hajjah Fatimah is located at 4001 Beach Road. Designed by architect John Turnbull Thomson, the mosque was named after a wealthy businesswoman known as Hajjah Fatimah. The mosque’s compound comprises a mausoleum, a prayer hall, an ablution area, a garden and the quarters of an Imam. The mosque is also known as the Leaning Tower of Singapore due to the tower which leans about six degrees off center.
