Built in 1924, Masjid Sultan is the largest mosque in Singapore. The mosque was built in 1820 but was demolished and was rebuilt in 1932. The original building was once a part of the Sultan’s palace complex from where it got its name “Masjid Sultan”. It has the capacity to hold 5000 devotees at a time.
