Officially known as the Sungnyemun, the Great South Gate is one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall and is a symbol of Seoul, which surrounded the city in the Joseon Dynasty. Dating back to the 14th century, this historic pagoda-style gateway is designated as the first National Treasure of South Korea.
