Opened in 1874 by King Rama V, the Bangkok National Museum is considered as the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. The museum houses the largest collection of Thai art and artifacts in the country. The exhibits which include prehistoric art, bronzes, murals and various other artifacts cover Thai History back to Neolithic times.
