Phra Sumen Fort is one of the forts that were built in 18th century to protect Bangkok. Apart from Mahakan Fort, this is the only fort still standing. It is a hexagonal-shape concrete fort built in the reign of King Rama I. The fort has an observation tower as well as tow levels of battlements where cannons are deployed. There is a park known as Santichaiprakarn Park around the fort, which is a good spot to spend an afternoon.
