Originally called as Wat Rai Phrik, Wat Intharawihan was built at the beginning of the Ayutthaya period. It has a Buddha image known as "Phra Si Ariyamettrai" or “Luang Pho To.” Construction of this giant Buddha was started in 1867 by Somdej Phra Buddhachan and was completed in 1927. The area behind the ubosot contains statues of Hindu deities as well as of Chao Mae Kuan Im who is the Goddess of Mercy.
