Housed inside an historical masterpiece building dating to 1893 in Istanbul’s charming Pera district, Pera Museum was founded in 2005 by Suna and Inan Kirac Foundation. The permanent collection of the museum features Orientalist art including over three hundred paintings as well as works by European artists from 17th to early 19th century. Works by Osman Hamdi, an Ottoman painter are also displayed including his popular paintings of 'The Tortoise Trainer'.
