Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, based close to the city's waterfront in Hobart's central business district celebrates Tasmania's history, art and culture. Housed in Hobart’s oldest building, the old 1808 Commissariat Store, it features Aboriginal displays and colonial relics along with old photographs, ephemera and fine examples of colonial decorative art.  Also learn about Tasmania's ancient origin, flora and fauna of Tasmania in the natural history section in the gallery. The museum is restored recently.
