The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) is Australia's audiovisual archive that shares, collects and preserves Australia's film, video, television stills and recorded sound from early history through to modern classics. The audiovisual collection holds more than 1.9 million works, including videos, audio tapes, records, compact discs, photograph cylinders and wire recordings. In addition to that, the collection contains supporting documents and artifacts, such as photographic stills, posters, lobby cards, scripts, costumes, vintage equipment, memorabilia and oral histories.
