Created and operated by RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) Association of Western Australia, the aviation museum is considered as one of the best museum of its kind in entire Australia as well as world. Established in 1959, the museum has main motive of preserving Australia's aviation heritage. Presently the museum houses over 20 aircrafts, 15 aircraft replicas and engines and is recognized all over the world for housing Avro Lancaster, one of the 17 left in entire world. Additionally, significant collection of research items like photographs and documentaries is housed by the museum regarding aviation in Australia.
