Designed by Francis Greenway in 1818–19, the Hyde Park Barracks were conserved and converted into a museum in 1981. Operated by Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales, visitors of the museum get to learn about daily lives of the convicts as well as Australia's convict system. Located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, the museum holds exhibitions on Sydney’s male convict labor force.
