Located at a walking distance from the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Botanic Gardens is a magnificent lush green space for picnics and a family day out. Covering an area of around 30 hectares, it is truly a botanical garden featuring numerous plant species from Australia as well as other parts of the world. The garden is full of various thematic gardens like palm groves, herb gardens and so on, with variety of colorful birds seen all around. Moreover, a National Herbarium is located in the garden which is said to be a renowned research institute holding million of dried plants since 1770s.
