City: Christchurch
Description:

Founded some 140 years ago, when an English oak tree was planted to commemorate the marriage between the Queen Victoria's eldest son Prince Albert Edward and Princess Alexandra of Denmark, the magnificent Botanic Garden of Christchurch is now home to more than 10,000 specimens of exotic and indigenous plants in New Zealand. Thousands of plants, gathered from all around the world and across New Zealand are here since 1863, including some of the oldest and largest trees of New Zealand. There are also conservatories and themed gardens to explore, several lawns to sprawl and a cafe. It's more like a secluded haven with beauty all around.
