Description:
Located next to the Spanish Synagogue, the Church of the Holy Spirit is the oldest catholic church to the Jewish Town and during the reign of Ferdinand I Jews had to attend catholic services here. The church was built in the first half of the 14th century for a Benedictine convent that originally stood at the western part of the church. During the Hussite wars it was plundered and the buildings sold to various owners. A century later, in 1689, the church was heavily damaged in a fire, and was rebuilt in the Baroque style.
