The Soviet War Memorial is a huge war memorial located in the Tiergarten on June 17 Street halfway between the Brandenberg Gate and the Siegessaule (Victory Column). It was constructed four years after war ended on 8 May 1949 designed by the Soviet architect Yakov Belopolsky.
