Despite its relatively small size, the crowds flock to this historic part of the city at the weekend, because the Dusseldorf's Old Town (Altstadt) boasts of some 200 bars, cafes and restaurants that are conveniently located throughout a series of pedestrian alleyways. One can say that Dusseldorf is mainly famous for Altstadt, which is often called 'the longest bar in the world'.
