The history of the brewery dates back as far as 1383. 1827-1854 the brewery moved from the city center to its contemporary location and soon became Germany's number one beer. Although the company suffered during the 20th century, Löwenbräu still is one of Germany's best known beer brands. The brewery can be toured, with two beers and snacks inlcuded.
