Located in the beautiful Pitti Palace, former residence of the Medici grand-dukes, the gallery features more than 500 Renaissance paintings. The collections of the gallery were opened to public initially in 18th century. Unlike other galleries and museums, the gallery does not follow any chronological order. The gallery is full of 17th century European paintings and moreover, there are older works as well, featured in the gallery, which are works of famous painters.
