City: Rome

The Santa Maria della Vittoria is a church located at bottom of Via XX Settembre, close to Piazza della Repubblica. Now it is unfortunately invaded by readers of Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons". This church is an interesting Baroque architecture containing Bernini's "Ecstasy of St. Teresa". Either side of this chapel are characters in what can best be described as theatre boxes. These are members of the Cornaro family, who paid for Bernini's sculpture.
