Dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design, the Stedelijk Museum has a motive to protect and portray new arts and artists. Established in 1874, the museum is located in borough Amsterdam South in the museum square and opened its doors to the public in 1895. Renovated 3 times since its establishment in 1874, the museum now houses modern and contemporary art from early 20th century till 21st century.
