City: Belfast

The museum is one of Northern Ireland’s premier tourist attractions, located about 11 kilometers to the east of the city of Belfast. Being regarded among the best of its kind, this fascinating museum tells the story of life in early 20th century Ulster about how people lived and travelled here over the centuries. It comprises of two separate museums – the Folk Museum and the Transport Museum. On Saturdays, there is a miniature railway operating, which is great fun. Here, you'll discover cottages, farms, schools and shops as you wander through the beautiful parkland of the Folk Museum. The Transport Museum holds an extensive transport collection, and tells the story of transport in Ireland, from its early history to the modern era.
