Located in a characteristic 18th century palace in the heart of the city, Museo del Romanticismo is dedicated to middle-class life during the romantic period. The museum is home to array of household items like lamps, furniture from Romantic era and porcelain objects along with the art works by artists like Federico de Madrazo, Francisco de Goya and Antonio Esquivel. The National Museum of Romanticism also houses an excellent collection of paintings made by Romantic artists like Valeriano Bécquer, beautiful landscapes by Villaamil, paintings depicting contemporary life of the time by Leonardo Alenza.
