Being part of Musée Suisse Group, the Swiss National Museum is one of the most important museums in Europe as well as world, depicting history of art and culture. Housed in a magnificent historicist building, it houses collections which portray the pre-historic times through 20th century. The extensive collections of the museum include gothic art, chivalry, liturgical sculptures and paintings which date back to two centuries. Moreover, there is a special exhibition space called the Collections Gallery which features Swiss furnishings. Likewise, there is a dedicated area which showcases Swiss coins from different ages.
