Providing a platform for research and execution of non-European art and culture in Zurich, the Völkerkundemuseum der Universität Zürich was opened in 1889. Maintaining thousands of international objects, the museum is located in old botanical garden of the city. Artworks from Himalayas, India, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Oceania, Australia, South America, Central North America, Western Asia, Central Asia and Ethiopia are showcased in the museum.
