The castle is located at Rua Antero de Quental, 7800-276 Beja. It was reconstructed under reign of King Dinis in the fourteenth century. The Beja Castle is a finest example of Portuguese fortification however its origin dates back to Roman eras. The Beja Castle also has a 36m tower which offers beautiful views from the top.
