The Cathedral located at Largo Sé Velha, 3000 Coimbra. It remains open from 10:00-18:00, except Friday 10:00-16:00. Entry is totally free. It is recognized as the Se Velha in Portuguese and it is one of the most significant Romanesque churches in Portugal. The Old Cathedral was built in 1162 while Afonso Henriques confirmed himself emperor of Portugal and selected Coimbra as his capital city.
