Description:

Created in 1592, Alameda Central got its name from a Spanish word álamo, which is a poplar tree planted in the park. The park was lit by gas lamps by the late 19th century, which were replaced by electrical lighting in 1892. Alameda Central has paved paths, decorative fountains and statues. The park also hosts open-air concerts which attract a large number of visitors.
