The library is temporarily in the old carriage house, formerly the town jail, behind the Courthouse (due to roof damage at the century old Algiers Point Library building). Occasional public readings and other special events are held here. While it clearly won't open until the library can move back to its home, there are plans to turn the building into a museum of Algiers history.
