The Whitney Museum of American Art consists of twentieth-century and contemporary American artworks. Whitney's permanent collection comprises over 19,000 paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, prints, videos and films by more than 2,900 artists. Every two years, Whitney museum hosts an international art show known as Whitney Biennial which introduces lesser-known artists to American art scene.
