City: San Diego

The Timken Museum of Art is a small fine art museum that collects lesser-known pieces from famous European old masters, American and Russian paintings. The museum displays paintings, sculptures and tapestries, and supporting the European holdings are the collections of American, Dutch and Flemish, French, Italian paintings and Russian icons. The Timken is the only museum in San Diego with a Rembrandt in its permanent collection. Among the celebrated masterworks are the paintings by John Singleton Copley and Eastman Johnson.
