The California Academy of Sciences is one of the largest museums of natural history in the world and is the oldest institution of its kind in the West. It is a world-class scientific and cultural institution which is also home to world-renowned scientists, an education department and an extensive science library with more than 26 million specimens and artifacts. The museum also features an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a four-story rainforest.
