A former military base, the Presidio is now a 1,400-acre nature park with woods, beaches, grasslands and tidal marshes. The Presidio is also home to wild plant and animal species, hiking trails, walkways, secluded green spaces and waterfront habitat. It is truly one of San Francisco's most beautiful national treasures and probably the largest urban park in the world.
