A military-based museum, Havacılık Müzesi is based in the Yeşilköy district of Istanbul. Also called as the Istanbul Aviation Museum, it is managed and operated by the Turkish Air Force. The collections include several aircrafts and defensive systems displayed in outdoor as well as indoor sections. Highlights comprise of war and cargo planes, helicopters, anti-aircraft missiles, hovercrafts and radars. In addition, there are medals, uniforms and belongings of the pilots as well as photographs that depict the history and development of Turkish Air Force.
