Description:

Museum of Coastal Defence, based in Shau Kei Wan, is the major tourists' attraction that has preserved the military memorabilia. Housed in Lei Yue Mun Fort, this museum reflects the history of military defence along the Hong Kong coast dating back to Ming Dynasty that was once the ruling dynasty of China. The collections include the Battle of Hong Kong (WWII), the first Opium War (1839–1842), the colonial period, the post-handover Hong Kong Garrison of the People's Liberation Army and the Japanese occupation displays in 11 galleries.
