City: Malacca
Description:

Constructed by the Dutch in the third quarter of the 18th century, St. John's Fort, one of other fortresses in Malacca was once a private chapel dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The fort stands on a hilltop to the east of town, and the cannons in the fort are faced inland instead to the sea. The view from the hilltop is truly magnificent, particularly for the fantastic tropical sunset.
