Based in the district of Altone, Altonaer Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte is a North German National Museum dedicated to the art and culture of northern Germany. The museum also presents the cultural and historical development of the Elbe region to Altona, the coastal areas of North and Baltic Sea and Schleswig-Holstein. The exhibits include collections on crafts, paintings, graphic arts, culture, history, fishing and shipping. Various program of exhibitions, films and lectures are also hosted in the museum related to the subjects from the 19th and 20th century to give an insight to the history, art and culture.
