The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (abbreviated as MNAC) is a national museum of Catalan visual art and arguably one of the greatest repositories of Romanesque religious works in the world. Housed in the Palau Nacional, the museum exhibits a vast collection of mostly Catalan art spanning the early Middle Ages to the early 20th century through its four permanent collections: Romanesque and Gothic art, Renaissance and Baroque collections, Modern art, photography, drawings, prints and posters and the Catalan Numismatic Department and a gallery devoted to the works by Picasso.
