The park is home to the creek that shares its name, as well as a variety of wildlife. Lemon Creek is mainly a creek located on the South Shore of Staten Island, and has been known by many names over the last few hundred years. It is one of the very few remaining ground-level creeks in New York City. The parkland is home to swans, mallard ducks, and it serves as a resting point for numerous migratory birds and monarch butterflies.
